Production Supervisor Job Brief

The Production Supervisor is a critical role in the manufacturing industry, responsible for overseeing the production process and ensuring that it runs smoothly and efficiently. This position requires a combination of technical and leadership skills, as well as the ability to manage employees and meet production goals.

Production Supervisor Responsibilities

  1. Supervise daily production operations to ensure efficient and timely production of goods.
  2. Monitor production schedules and adjust them as needed to meet customer demand.
  3. Communicate with other departments and teams to coordinate production activities and resolve any issues that may arise.
  4. Evaluate employee performance, provide feedback, and implement necessary corrective actions.
  5. Ensure that equipment and machinery are maintained and properly functioning to prevent downtime and delays in production.
  6. Monitor inventory levels and initiate purchase orders for supplies and materials needed for production.
  7. Implement and enforce safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
  8. Collaborate with management to set production targets and establish goals for the production team.
  9. Analyze production data and reports to identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to increase efficiency and productivity.
  10. Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for production processes.

Requirements

  1. Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or related field
  2. Previous experience in production supervision or management
  3. Knowledge of production processes, machinery, and equipment
  4. Strong leadership and people management skills
  5. Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
  6. Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
  7. Familiarity with safety procedures and regulations
  8. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software programs
  9. Ability to work a flexible schedule as needed
  10. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies is a plus
