Job brief
We are seeking a professional, dynamic, and caring Human Service Worker to join our team! The ideal candidate will have a strong background in human services in varying settings, from group homes to living facilities and prisons. The role's key focus is to provide support, guidance, and development to patients or persons in the facilities, including assisting with obtaining employment, healthcare, and other services.
Responsibilities
- Always act as the first point of contact for clients and facilities and assist with being the liaison between them.
- Interview clients and make assessments and reports of their needs.
- Send reports and interview notes to facilities and their management to assist with locating the right service for the individual.
- Assist clients with the completion of relevant paperwork, including applications and government forms.
- Complete administrative and clerical tasks such as updating the internal system, obtaining copies of documents from clients, and filing them properly and confidentiality.
- Support social workers or welfare workers in developing effective action and care plans for clients.
- Work in line with HIPPA guidelines and maintain client confidentiality.
Requirements
- High school diploma or above, with at least one year of on-the-job training
- Previous experience as a support worker, administrative assistant in a welfare office, or other position where confidentiality and compliance are required would be an advantage
- Knowledge of HIPPA guidelines and safeguarding
- Compassionate and kind in nature
- Good computer skills, including Microsoft office and record-keeping software
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Highly organized
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Good problem-solving skills
- Excellent note-taking abilities
