Job brief
We are seeking a Wind Turbine Technician to engineer wind-powered system processes such as installation or maintenance. The ideal candidate would be professional, experienced, and adventurous.
Responsibilities
- Repair, maintain and install wind-powered systems on-site.
- Inspect the exterior and physical integrity of wind turbine towers.
- Troubleshoot problems (hydraulic, variable speed, etc.)
- Service underground transmission systems, wind field substations, or fiber optic sensing and control systems.
- Comply with local environmental and health laws.
- Perform maintenance in accordance with OEM practices.
- Perform data collection from wind plants.
- Replace worn or malfunctioning components.
- Collect turbine data for testing or research and analysis.
- Install wind turbine towers on land or at sea.
- Fit electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic equipment.
- Test turbine blades and control systems.
- Run safety checks on electrical substations and cables.
Requirements
- College degree or vocational school certificate
- 5+ years of technical experience in the wind power industry
- Need to be physically fit and have good stamina, as this is a physically demanding job that involves climbing and heavy lifting
- Able to climb 80+ meter steel towers daily
- Able to lift up to 30 kgs worth of equipment
- Willing to work overtime and on short notice
- Technically minded and have an aptitude for mechanical systems and processes
- Consistently meet standards and have strong attention to detail to maintain safety compliance
