Job brief
We're seeking an experienced water resources engineer. You will be in charge of planning, evaluating, and managing water resource systems, including irrigation, stormwater, wastewater, and water supply.
You will collaborate with clients, other engineers, and project managers to ensure that projects are finished on time, within budget, and following the requirements.
Responsibilities
- Design, analyze, and manage water resource systems such as water supply, stormwater, wastewater, and irrigation systems.
- Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic modeling using software tools such as HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, or SWMM.
- Develop and evaluate design documents, including specifications, drawings, and calculations.
- Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses for proposed projects.
- Ensure that projects are finished on schedule and under budget by working together with project managers, other engineers, and clients.
- Review and approve engineering design documents, including specifications, drawings, and calculations.
- Prepare and present technical reports and presentations to clients and other stakeholders.
- Ensure that water resource systems are designed and installed per applicable codes, standards, and regulations.
- Provide technical guidance and support to other team members.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends related to water resources engineering.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in water resources engineering, including hydrologic and hydraulic modeling
- Proficiency in using software tools such as HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, or SWMM for hydrologic and hydraulic modeling
- Knowledge of codes, standards, and regulations related to water resources engineerings, such as ASCE, AWWA, and EPA
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience with project management and delivery methods such as design-bid-build or design-build is a plus
- Professional Engineering (PE) license is preferred
