Job brief
An experienced Transportation Engineer is needed to expand our group. Designing, assessing, and managing transportation systems, such as roads, highways, bridges, and transit systems, will fall within your purview.
To ensure that projects are finished on time, within budget, and in accordance with the necessary requirements, you will collaborate with clients, other engineers, and project managers.
Responsibilities
- Design, analyze, and manage transportation systems such as roads, highways, bridges, and transit systems.
- Conduct traffic studies, including traffic volume counts, speed studies, and accident analyses.
- Develop and evaluate design documents, including specifications, drawings, and calculations.
- Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses for proposed projects.
- Ensure that projects are finished on schedule and under budget by working together with project managers, other engineers, and clients.
- Review and approve engineering design documents, including specifications, drawings, and calculations.
- Prepare and present technical reports and presentations to clients and other stakeholders.
- Ensure transportation systems are designed and installed per applicable codes, standards, and regulations.
- Provide technical guidance and support to other team members.
- Keep abreast of new developments in technology and business trends that affect transportation engineering.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering or Transportation Engineering
- 5+ years of experience in transportation engineering, including traffic studies and design of transportation systems
- Proficiency in using software tools such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, or GIS for transportation engineering design
- Knowledge of codes, standards, and regulations related to transportation engineerings, such as AASHTO, MUTCD, and FHWA
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A capacity for both independence and teamwork
- Experience with project management and delivery methods such as design-bid-build or design-build is a plus
- Professional Engineering (PE) license is preferred
