Job brief
We are seeking a patient, honest and kind Teaching Assistant to join our team! The ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for teaching all children and have previous experience in a teaching or teaching assistant role. The focus of the role is to make learning fun and interactive for our students whilst ensuring they learn in line with the curriculum and governing body.
Responsibilities
- Help the teacher to create and develop lesson plans for each lesson.
- Help to teach classes of up to 25 children of varying ages.
- Use the resources available to ensure that learning is fun whilst keeping in line with the curriculum.
- Assist with preparing the classroom for the day, including getting out books, and learning materials.
- Help children who need extra support to understand their lessons ranging from Math, English, Science, and also IT.
- Engage with children during lesson time and listen to their aspirations and be encouraging.
- Ensure that you engage the class for feedback on a regular basis.
- Safeguard children, by keeping a keen eye on them, and ensuring that anything untoward is reported to the teacher of the class.
- Help children to learn to resolve disputes effectively, but monitoring and managing their behavior towards each other.
- Report any serious bullying allegations to the principal.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in either English, Maths, Science, or general education
- Previous experience in a teaching assistant role, or role within the early years of education would be desirable
- Good listening skills
- Must be able to pass an enhanced background check
- Patient, kind, and friendly in nature
- Excellent communication skills & problem-solving skills
- Good report writing skills
- Proficient with computer programs such as Microsoft Office
