Our healthcare facility is seeking a proficient and seasoned Surgeon to become part of our medical staff and conduct a range of surgical interventions for our patients. As a surgeon, you will be responsible for diagnosing and treating various medical conditions that require surgery, such as injuries, diseases, deformities, and tumors. You will also prepare patients for surgery, follow safety and ethical standards, and oversee postoperative care.
Responsibilities
- Examine patients and review their medical history to determine the need and feasibility of surgery.
- Perform surgical procedures using appropriate techniques, instruments, and equipment.
- Ensure sterility and hygiene in the operating room and follow infection control protocols.
- Collaborate with other surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, and other medical staff to ensure optimal patient care.
- Monitor patients’ vital signs and condition during and after surgery.
- Provide postoperative instructions and follow-up care to patients and their families.
- Educate patients on the risks and benefits of surgery and the expected outcomes.
- Document and report surgical procedures and outcomes.
- Keep up to date with the latest developments and innovations in the field of surgery.
Requirements
- Completion of a medical program from a recognized and accredited educational institution resulting in a Doctor of Medicine degree.
- Completion of a surgical residency program in a recognized specialty
- Board certification in surgery by the American Board of Surgery or equivalent
- Valid state license to practice medicine
- Proven experience as a surgeon in a hospital or clinic setting
- Excellent knowledge of surgical principles, methods, and procedures
- Proficient in performing various types of surgery using different techniques and tools
- Proficiency in managing stressful situations and responding effectively to emergencies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Compassion, patience, and respect for patient's rights and dignity
