- Maintaining Inventory Levels - Stockers must maintain accurate inventory levels by regularly counting and reconciling items in the storage area with the records in the inventory system. They also ensure that items are restocked on the shelves as needed.
- Cleaning and Maintaining Storage Area - Stockers must keep the storage area clean, neat, and organized, following proper sanitation and safety protocols to prevent accidents and maintain a hygienic environment.
- Providing Customer Service - Stockers must be knowledgeable about the store's merchandise, pricing, and availability. They may also interact with customers and assist them in locating products or answering questions about the available items.
- Assisting with Sales Floor Setup - Stockers may be called upon to help set up displays, move merchandise to the sales floor, and help with rearranging shelves to make room for new inventory.
- Operating Equipment - Stockers may be required to operate equipment such as hand trucks, pallet jacks, and forklifts to move and transport merchandise to and from the storage area. It is important for them to follow all safety protocols while operating equipment.
- Reporting Any Issues - Stockers must report any issues with damaged or faulty merchandise, equipment, or safety hazards to their supervisor immediately to ensure that issues are dealt with promptly.
