Job brief
We are seeking an organized Stage Manager to ensure the seamless flow of performances on stage during live performances. Your role will be to make sure that rehearsals can be conducted appropriately, all equipment is properly provided to the crew, and to meet the cast’s needs behind the scenes during performances.
Responsibilities
- Schedule rehearsal times and time limits.
- Coordinate with vendors and suppliers regarding the inventory and other necessary items.
- Make notes during rehearsals and report them to the crew.
- Inform the costume and wardrobe departments of the director's vision.
- Oversees the design and organization of the stage before performances.
- Oversee technical run-throughs with the director prior to a performance.
- Direct staff as needed during performances.
- Instructs lighting and technical support team on the timing and execution of aesthetic or special effects.
- Resolve any technical difficulties during rehearsals and performances.
- Ensure the production team and other crew members have the necessary equipment.
- Explain the props needed to craftsmen.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s in Drama, Production, or relevant field
- 3+ years of working with stage and live performances
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Fantastic interpersonal skills
- Can remain calm under pressure
- Demonstrates familiarity with the logistics of stage management
- Familiar with the basic function of lighting
- Is willing and able to work long hours and nontraditional shifts
- Works well with a team
- Communicates clearly and effectively
- Manages time efficiently
- Demonstrates ability to multitask on an ongoing basis
- Exhibits knowledge of proper production safety procedures
