We are looking for a dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with students who have learning challenges and will be responsible for creating a positive and inclusive learning environment. They will work collaboratively with other team members to design and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and ensure student success.

Special education teacher responsibilities

• Design and implement effective IEPs tailored to individual student needs.
• Evaluate student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
• Collaborate with parents, teachers, and students to customize education plans.
• Create and maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment.
• Use assistive technologies and other resources to support student growth and development.
• Provide instructional support in both individual and group settings.
• Supervise and support paraeducators and aides.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records regarding student progress.
• Attend and participate in team meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Special Education or related field
• Must hold a valid Special Education teaching license
• Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a Special Education Teacher
• Experience designing and implementing effective IEPs
• In-depth knowledge of special education laws and regulations
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with other team members
• Skilled in adapting and modifying instructional strategies to accommodate individual student needs
• Knowledge of assistive technology and other resources to support student growth and development
• Strong organizational and record-keeping skills
