Job brief
We are seeking a professional, personable, and patient-focused Sonographer to join our team! The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sonography for various parts of the body to view and diagnose specific conditions or abnormalities. The focus of the role is to provide imaging services to other healthcare professionals such as nurses, doctors, midwives, and oncologists.
Responsibilities
- Receive referrals from other healthcare professionals such as doctors, midwives, and oncologists requesting imaging investigations for their patients.
- Hold appointments with patients and explain the procedure for imaging or ultra-sound processes.
- Image the specific part of the body requested by the other healthcare professional.
- Analyze the images obtained from the patients and provide feedback and reports to other medical professionals.
- Provide images and findings to doctors to assist with the diagnosis and treatment of these conditions.
- Liaise with other healthcare service providers or doctors and provide referrals where needed.
- Use medical equipment as needed.
- Keep patient records up to date.
- Work in line with patient confidentiality guidelines
Requirements
- Associate degree or above in a science-related field
- Certificate of Sonography as issued in the country/state you reside
- Minimum of 2 years of internship or externship experience in a similar role
- Able to use all medical equipment required to complete sonography tasks
- A strong and keen eye for detail and ability to notice subtle abnormalities or changes
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Good interpersonal skills and excellent relationship-building abilities
- Good note taker and report writing skills
- Excellent analytical abilities
- Strong knowledge of patient confidentiality guidelines
