Job brief
We are seeking a personable, friendly, and professional Senior Intake Coordinator to join our team! The ideal fit for the role will have previous experience in an administration or customer service role within the healthcare industry and be adept with greeting patients in the facility. The key focus of the position is to greet and admit patients into the facility, along with obtaining crucial information from them.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients upon arrival and obtain their information, and check them in for their appointment, notifying their physician of their arrival.
- Ensure that the patient's information is up to date on the system, checking vital facts such as name, address, and appointment they have scheduled.
- Update and amend any incorrect information on the system.
- Assist with gathering medical records for patients, including medical release forms, and liaising with other healthcare providers to gather the required information.
- Assist patients with directions to the physicians' office or room.
- Help patients to book follow-up appointments where required.
- Make referrals to other departments or healthcare facilities when required.
- Answer patient questions regarding other services available.
- Schedule surgery or procedures once instructed by the physician.
- Work in line with patient confidentiality guidelines at all times.
- Lead other intake coordinators as required.
Requirements
- High School Diploma
- Associate degree in administration or healthcare administration would be an advantage
- Previous experience in an administration or customer service-based role within the healthcare industry
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- A good command of English (written and spoken)
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
- Strong computer skills with knowledge of EHR/EMR systems
- Good attention to detail skills
- Able to work both independently and collaboratively
- Good problem-solving skills
- Confident in using office equipment such as fax machines, printers, and scanners
