School Bus Driver Job Description

We are looking for a School Bus Driver who prioritizes safety and reliability. The primary responsibility is to provide safe transportation to and from school for students.

Responsibilities

• Drive the school bus safely, ensuring adherence to traffic laws and regulations.
• Conduct vehicle inspections before and after each trip to guarantee compliance with safety and maintenance regulations.
• Maintain a clean and safe bus environment, ensuring all equipment is in good working condition.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff to address concerns and meet their needs in a timely manner.
• Follow established schedules and routes to ensure timely arrival and departure from designated locations.
• Keep accurate records of mileage logs, fuel records, and incident reports.
• Provide excellent customer service, with a friendly and positive attitude towards all passengers.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, particularly those related to student safety and transportation.

Requirements

• Possession of a valid driver's license with a clean driving record, and the ability to obtain a commercial driver's license (CDL) with a passenger endorsement
• Minimum of two years of experience as a school bus driver or a similar role
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff
• Capability to operate individually and collaboratively as part of a team
• Superb organizational skills with the capacity to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
• Capability to maintain confidentiality while handling sensitive information, and exhibiting tact and discretion
• Capability to pass a drug test and background check
• Excellent knowledge of vehicle maintenance and safety procedures
