Program Tester job description

Job brief

We are seeking an analytically minded, detail orientated Program Tester to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the technology industry with the ability to investigate and analyze possible improvements to proposed and developed programs and new technologies. The focus of the role is to review products and suggest improvements to the programs/software to improve the end-user experience and ensure they are fit for purpose and function correctly.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate effectively with other team members and departments to get a good overall view of the program and input on what user features are working properly and which are not.
• Complete all levels of testing, including system, integration, and regression.
• Design, develop and implement automation scripts when required.
• Research, analyze, detect and track defects and inconsistencies within the software or program.
• Provide timely solutions and remedies and take part in group discussions and improvement activities.
• Use quality engineering principles whilst working throughout the Agile product cycle.
• Ensure all fixes and recommendations are properly documented for future reference.
• Write and present reports and findings to software developers and senior management.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer science, Information Technology, Engineering or other related fields
• 2 years of experience as a Program Tester or in a similar role
• 2 years of experience in data analysis would be an advantage
• Able to work independently without supervision in a fast-paced environment
• Able to take responsibility for work and accountability for decisions and projects
• Excellent critical thinking skills with the ability to make the best decisions quickly
• Great attention to detail and analytical skills
• Excellent team working skills with good interpersonal skills
• Excellent multitasking abilities
