Product Owner job description

Job brief

We are seeking a result-driven, organized, and dynamic Product Owner to work with our scrum team to organize, prioritize, and assess the work for the team to complete. The ideal candidate will be adept with scum and agile techniques and have excellent project management abilities with the skills to effectively delegate and monitor progress within the project and team.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with partners, clients, and stakeholders alike to ascertain the feature request requirements for the product and incorporate them into the product roadmap.
• Regularly groom and reorganize or prioritize the backlog when required.
• Develop and create user stories and outline and define the acceptance criteria for them.
• Work within the team and project to set achievable sprint goals.
• Write and document acceptance tests.
• Organize and plan releases and manage the schedule for upgrades and updates as required.
• Keep track of the work progress and highlight production issues during sprints.
• Look into the preferences, requests, and requirements of the end-users to deliver the best possible end-user experience.
• Refine and redevelop where required by the agile methodology based on the results achieved and client feedback.
• Constantly research and learn new and emerging trends to keep up to date with industry knowledge and best practice.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or similar field
• Demonstrated work experience as a Product Owner in a similar role, or within an internship in product management
• Good knowledge of agile and scrum methodology
• Proven experience managing the various stages of the product life cycle through to completion and launch
• Strong technical background with a working knowledge of software development and web technologies including programming languages
• Excellent team player with good communication abilities
• Outstanding organization skills with the ability to prioritize own workload and the workload of a team
