Job brief

We are seeking a professional, knowledgeable, and detail-focused Phlebotomist to join our team! The ideal fit for the role will have a strong background in a lab environment, a keen eye for detail along with excellent organizational skills. The focus of the role is to ensure proper labeling and processing of blood samples to assist doctors, nurses, and consultants with proper and accurate diagnoses of various illnesses and diseases.

Responsibilities

• Collect blood samples from the required location and label them in lab readable labels in accordance with the information provided on each sample.
• Store the blood samples correctly and in line with procedures at the proper temperatures.
• Ensure that all samples are tested in line with lab policies to ensure the best possible sample is used.
• Run the blood samples through various testing procedures using laboratory equipment.
• Analyze the results of the tests that have been run.
• Provide test analysis results to doctors and other healthcare professionals.
• Assist doctors and other healthcare professionals with diagnosing underlying conditions or diseases.
• Ensure a clean, tidy, and sterile working environment.

Requirements

• Associates degree in biology or related field
• Diploma in Phlebotomy or at least three years of on-the-job training
• Strong attention to detail
• Knowledge of operating various lab equipment
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Good analytical skills
• Confident in using EMR systems
• Strong data input skills
• High organized and able to prioritize own workload
• Demonstrated knowledge of storage of specimens
