Job brief
We are seeking a highly knowledgeable, kind, and patient-focused Pharmacist to join our team! Our ideal candidate will have previous experience as a pharmacist and hold all relevant licenses to practice in their region. The focus of the role is to support the pharmacy staff by ensuring correct medications are dispensed, checking prescriptions, and informing patients on how to take their medicine properly and in line with the manufacturer's guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Support the pharmacy staff in line with helping to ensure that proper medication is dispensed and properly checked.
- Assist patients with the proper method in taking their medication in line with the manufacturer's guidelines.
- Advise patients collecting their medicine about any potential side effects that the medicine may cause.
- Work alongside the pharmacy staff to ensure that all medication is well stocked, and the new stock is ordered as and when required.
- Ensure that new stock and inventory coming into the pharmacy is logged and reported on a monthly or quarterly basis.
- Assist customers in finding the best over-the-counter medicine to suit their ailments and their health needs.
- Check prescriptions and follow up with doctor surgeries or health providers to find missing or last prescriptions.
- Advise customers when their repeat prescription has expired and they must obtain a new prescription from their health provider.
- Advise customers of wait times for medication to arrive for special prescriptions which are not held in stock.
- Dispense exact medication amounts and ensure that the correct amount is in the patient's prescription box.
- Advise customers on prescription and medication costs when required.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in pharmaceuticals or related field
- licensed to dispense medicine with the appropriate certification from the board of medicine in the region in which you reside
- Minimum of 2 years previous experience in a similar role
- In-depth knowledge of various medications, how to take them, and their side effects
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Good technical and computer skills
- Strong independent working abilities
- Demonstrated research skills
- Confident in data analysis and reporting
- Highly organized and able to manage own workload
