Job brief
We are seeking a professional and knowledgeable Personal Trainer to join our team. The ideal fit for the role will have a strong background in health, fitness, and nutrition and be certified as a personal trainer, have excellent communication skills and be able to build strong and lasting partnerships with clients. The focus of the role is to meet with clients to ascertain their fitness and wellness goals, develop plans to achieve this, and guide them through exercises ensuring proper form to help them reach their goals.
Responsibilities
- Consult with clients to ascertain their fitness goals, weight loss, muscle building, strength training or stamina training, etc.
- Assess their current fitness level.
- Develop a suitable training and diet plan to assist them in achieving their goal.
- Complete demonstrations with clients on how to use fitness equipment, including treadmills, rowing machines, weight machines, and other related accessories.
- Monitor the clients' performance of tasks you ask them to complete, ensuring they are completing each exercise correctly and with proper form, and make sure to give corrections when needed.
- Complete sports massages and stretching sessions as needed to ensure proper muscle care.
- Monitor the clients' diet, and encourage food diaries to ensure the clients are consuming the right balance of protein, carbohydrates, and minerals to sustain their fitness plan.
- Provide general wellness and health advice as needed.
- Encourage clients to reach their goals.
- Remain positive and encouraging at all times.
Requirements
- High school diploma as a minimum
- Vocational field of study in health, fitness, personal training, or nutrition
- Certification as a personal trainer
- Working knowledge of gym and fitness equipment
- Excellent communication skills and relationship-building abilities
- Confident in developing relationships with various personality types
- Positive and encouraging attitude
- Generally fit and physically able to demonstrate the use of gym equipment, including weights
