Paramedic job brief
Our medical facility is seeking a qualified and highly skilled Paramedic to join our emergency response team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing immediate care to patients who require urgent medical attention. The Paramedic will work in partnership with other medical professionals in a fast-paced, high-stress environment, responding to emergencies within the designated area. The role requires excellent communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
Paramedic responsibilities
- Respond to emergency calls and transport patients to medical facilities while providing exceptional pre-hospital care.
- Assess patients' medical needs and provide appropriate treatment and care in line with protocols and standards.
- Provide life-saving treatments such as administering injections, monitoring vital signs, and performing CPR as required.
- Work closely with other emergency responders and medical professionals to provide quality care and ensure timely response to medical emergencies.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient information, treatment provided, and time of arrival and departure from the scene.
- Ensure the ambulance is kept in excellent condition, with all equipment and supplies maintained and stocked appropriately.
- Prepare and submit detailed reports of all patient interactions and treatments administered.
- Provide education and advice to patients, caregivers, and families regarding injury prevention and emergency response procedures.
- Participate in regular training and professional development activities to maintain current knowledge and skills.
Requirements
- Proven experience working as a Paramedic with a valid licensure
- Possess a thorough understanding of medical protocols, emergency response procedures, and be able to act decisively in high-stress situations
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work well in a team environment
- Physical and mental fitness to work in a fast-paced and high-stress environment.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and act quickly to provide appropriate care
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records and documentation
- Must be willing to work flexible hours, including weekends, nights and public holidays
- Must have a basic life support (BLS) or advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) certification
