Job brief
We are seeking an experienced, dynamic, and professional Orthodontist to join our growing team! The ideal candidate will have a strong background in dentistry with a focus on teeth and jaw irregularities, along with being highly organized and personable. They will be experienced in building trusting relationships with patients. The focus of the role is to identify, diagnose, and treat, tooth and jaw growth irregularities whilst providing patients with pain-free and fear-free appointments to the best of their ability.
Responsibilities
- Consult with and examine patients to ascertain the issues with their teeth or jaw and conduct investigative tests such as x-rays or physical examinations to determine the cause.
- Provide advice and guidance on preventative measures to help stop tooth conditions from developing.
- Utilize orthodontic appliances to assist with the correction of poorly aligned teeth, correct issues with jawbone structures to allow for normal functioning, and improve appearance where needed.
- Fit patients with braces or tooth implants where required.
- Advise parents regarding children’s teeth and advise on future outlook regarding the need for braces etc.
- Ensure a sterile and clean office and the practice environment.
- Keep patients' records up to date with relevant information.
- Refer patients to other healthcare service providers when needed.
- Work in line with patient confidentiality guidelines at all times.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in biology or related field
- Doctor of Medical dentistry or dental surgery degree
- Relevant medical school training and internship or externship experience
- Required License to practice dentistry in the country/state you reside
- Demonstrated ability to use dentistry equipment
- Excellent interpersonal skills with good relationship-building skills
- Keen eye for detail, even very small ones
- Able to identify small or non-obvious changes in patients' teeth or jaw structures
- Highly organized and always able to prioritize own workload
- Knowledge of patient confidentiality guidelines
