Job brief
We are seeking an experienced, dynamic, and professional Ophthalmologist to join our growing team! The ideal candidate will have a strong background in eye care and providing effective solutions to patients. The focus of the role is to identify, examine, and diagnose eye conditions or sight problems and consult with patients to find the right treatment for them, whether that be glasses with suitable lenses, contact lenses, or laser eye surgery.
Responsibilities
- Consult with patients and listen to their concerns about their vision or sight needs.
- Examine patients and perform various tests to ascertain the issues with their sight.
- Identify sight problems or eye abnormalities and advise the patient of the issues.
- Test patients’ eyes and recommend solutions to improve their current vision issues, such as glasses with lenses, contact lenses, or corrective laser surgery.
- Refer patients to other healthcare professionals as required for eye surgery not related to vision, for example, lazy eye surgery.
- Use optical equipment to perform exams and other tests.
- Provide preventative advice for preventable eye conditions.
- Keep notes of patients' prescriptions and progress with their new visual aids.
- Provide consultations and expert advice on the best long terms solutions for them.
- Work in line with patient confidentiality guidelines.
Requirements
- Relevant training and certification as an Ophthalmologist
- License if appliable for your country/state to practice
- Demonstrated expert knowledge of eye anatomy, diseases, and vision issues
- Able to operate optical equipment to diagnose and investigate eye issues
- Strong physics and math knowledge
- Confident, clear communicator with excellent written and verbal skills
- Good interpersonal skills
- Excellent management and administrative abilities
