Job brief
We are looking for a qualified and compassionate Obstetrician and Gynecologist to join our healthcare team and provide medical care to women of all ages. As an obstetrician and gynecologist, you will specialize in pregnancy, childbirth, and female reproductive system health. You will also perform routine check-ups, preventive health screenings, and reproductive counseling for women.
Responsibilities
- Examine, diagnose, and treat various conditions and diseases that affect women’s health, such as infections, hormonal disorders, cancers, etc.
- Perform tests and procedures, such as pap smears, pelvic exams, ultrasounds, biopsies, etc.
- Prescribe medications and treatments according to best practices and evidence-based guidelines.
- Provide prenatal care and monitor the health of pregnant women and their fetuses.
- Deliver babies using natural or surgical methods and provide postnatal care.
- Perform surgeries and operations, such as cesarean sections, hysterectomies, tubal ligations, etc.
- Educate and advise women on family planning, contraception, fertility, menopause, and other topics related to women’s health.
- Refer patients to other specialists or services when needed.
- Maintain accurate and confidential medical records and documentation.
- Keep up to date with the latest developments and research in the field of obstetrics and gynecology.
Requirements
- Doctor of Medicine degree from an accredited medical school
- Fulfillment of the requirements of a residency program specializing in obstetrics and gynecology
- Board certification in obstetrics and gynecology by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG) or equivalent
- Valid state license to practice medicine
- Proven experience as an obstetrician and gynecologist in a hospital or clinic setting
- Excellent knowledge of women’s health issues and best practices
- Proficient in performing various tests, procedures, and surgeries related to obstetrics and gynecology
- Proficiency in interpersonal communication with patients, families, and healthcare practitioners
- Compassion, empathy, and respect for women’s needs and preferences
- Critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
