Job brief
We are seeking a patient-focused, kind, and caring Nurse Practitioner to join our team! The ideal candidate will have a strong background in practical nursing and previous experience working in all areas of nursing in healthcare. The focus of the role is to prevent, diagnose and treat medical conditions, diseases and illnesses and provide general wellness education to patients in your care.
Responsibilities
- Assess and diagnose patients, including monitoring vital signs and updating their patient files/charts.
- Advise patients on general and preventative methods to prevent illness or disease from occurring.
- Order lab tests when needed and review the results with patients.
- Prescribe medications for patients as required.
- Perform consultations with patients to ascertain their illness and symptoms.
- Assist with the provision of surgical care.
- Monitor and report the effectiveness of interventions.
- Ensure staff, family, and patient decision-making by providing in-depth expert knowledge and recommendations.
- Make prompt referrals to other healthcare service providers when needed.
- Work in line with patient safeguarding and confidentiality guidelines at all times.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Nursing
- Two years of previous experience as a practical nurse
- Two years’ experience in a supervisory or managerial nursing role
- Relevant Nursing license in your state or country of residence
- Demonstrated knowledge of medical equipment and drugs and how to safely administer them
- Demonstrated ability to notarise and provide reports on service and care levels
- Strong educational ability and the ability to influence and mentor patients and other medical staff
- Strong team working abilities
