Job brief

We are seeking a detail-focused, knowledgeable and professional Nuclear Engineer to join our team! The ideal fit for the role will have a strong background in engineering with a focus on nuclear energy. The key focus of the position is to research and develop innovative methods and instruments to derive benefits from nuclear energy.

Responsibilities

• Research and develop effective processes for nuclear energy production.
• Research and assess instruments and equipment used or to be used for the derivation of nuclear energy.
• Research, test and develop medical use from radiation and nuclear energy such as radiotherapy, chemotherapy, and other therapies.
• Develop equipment and instruments used for medical diagnosis and treatment.
• Create effective drawings and diagrams.
• Create and develop chemical equations.
• Oversee the maintenance and operational standards at power plants to ensure they meet regulatory guidelines.
• Work in alignment with health and safety regulations at all times.
• Provide training and mentoring to junior engineers and production operatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Engineering or related field
• Demonstrated experience in a nuclear engineering role
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, and diagrams
• Strong ability in drawing, designing, and creating diagrams, blueprints, and drawings
• Excellent analytical skills, with a keen attention to detail
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Demonstrated knowledge of health and safety guidelines
• Good report writing skills
• Strong manual dexterity
• Good problem-solving abilities
• Ability to prioritize own time and workload
