Job Brief
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nonprofit CFO to join our team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the financial operations of the organization, including budgeting, accounting, and financial reporting.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of nonprofit financial management, excellent leadership and communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage the organization's annual budget, in collaboration with other senior leaders.
- Guarantee that the financial records, comprising the general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable, are precise and comprehensive.
- Prepare and present financial reports to the Board of Directors and other stakeholders, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Oversee the organization's financial planning and analysis, including forecasting, financial modeling, and scenario planning.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and reporting requirements.
- Provide guidance and leadership to the finance team, including hiring, training, and performance management.
- Collaborate with program leaders to ensure financial resources are allocated appropriately and effectively.
- Build and maintain connections with external stakeholders, such as auditors, banks, and other financial institutions.
- Formulate and execute financial policies and protocols to guarantee effective internal controls and risk management.
- Stay up-to-date on changes in nonprofit financial regulations, laws, and best practices.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; CPA or other relevant certifications preferred
- At least 10 years of experience in nonprofit financial management, including experience as a CFO or similar role
- Strong understanding of nonprofit financial management, including fund accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels
- Experience developing and managing complex budgets, financial modeling, and forecasting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Knowledge of financial regulations and reporting requirements relevant to nonprofit organizations
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to maintain confidential information and exercise discretion
