Job brief
We are seeking a professional, personable, and patient-focused Neuropsychologist to join our team! The ideal candidate will have a strong background in this field and be adept at investigating and understanding brain conditions and how it affects people’s mental well-being. The focus of the role is to diagnose and treat patients suffering from neuropsychology issues.
Responsibilities
- Research and experiment to provide answers to questions about the brain's structure and functions.
- Conduct experiments and investigations on brain functionality.
- Assess and evaluate the symptoms and negative impacts of brain injuries or abnormal brain functioning, such as strokes, Alzheimer's disease, or dementia.
- Devise and experimental trial treatments for specific brain injuries and conditions
- Perform tests of mental faculties and oversee PET scans, MRIs, and other scans as needed.
- Assist patients with reaching their treatment goals, and develop plans, stepping stones, and end goals with achievable markers along the way.
- Advise and consult on the development of pharmaceutical-grade drugs that could affect central nervous system functions and how they may impact them,
- Perform evaluative duties and offer expert opinions in a forensic context at legal proceedings when needed.
- Participate in conferences and seminars to keep updated on recent developments in the field.
- Work in line with safeguarding and patient confidentiality best practices.
Requirements
- A medical degree in neuropsychology and the successful completion of a residency and internship or externship
- A relevant license and/or certification to practice neuropsychology from the country/state you reside in
- Experience working in a research setting conducting drug trials
- A demonstrated ability to work in research and clinical contexts both independently and as a team
- Strong analytical skills, able to present findings
- Highly organized and focused
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
