Job brief
We are seeking an experienced, dynamic, and professional Mental Health Technician to join our team! The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the mental health services industry and be adept at supporting other mental health professionals. The focus of the role will be to monitor and record improvements or deteriorations in patients, as well as ensure that prescribed medications are provided and taken.
Responsibilities
- Monitor patients’ responses to treat both medical and therapeutic and make notes in their files.
- Monitor care plans, targets, and patient milestones and update them accordingly.
- Provide support during counseling or therapy sessions to both the patient and counselor.
- Ensure prescribed medication is issued on time and taken by the patient.
- Monitor the vital signs of patients and act when needed.
- Ensure that patient information is kept updated.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to obtain relevant patient information or updates.
- Assist therapists and counselors by supporting therapy sessions and providing information as needed.
- Work in line with patient confidentiality guidelines at all times.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in psychotherapy or related field
- Licensed in the relevant country/state to practice in healthcare
- Minimum of two years’ experience in a similar role, either through internship, externship, or other related experience
- Previous experience dealing with patients who have mental health issues
- Kind and compassionate in nature
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Excellent relationship-building abilities
- Good time management and prioritization skills
- Good interpersonal skills
- Strong administrative skills
