Job brief
As a vital part of the care team, the Medical Technician supports physicians by collecting, testing, and recording samples. Primary responsibilities include testing fluids to aid physicians in making informed decisions about treatment plans, analyzing and preparing the results of bodily fluid, blood, etc., and other medical support functions. This role requires flexibility, clinical expertise, and advanced medical tools and equipment knowledge.
Responsibilities
- Collect and prepare urine, blood, and tissue for evaluation.
- Assess collected samples and identify any cell abnormalities.
- Maintain lab inventory levels and place orders for new supplies as needed.
- Document and review tested data.
- Prepare detailed reports about test results and findings.
- Prep all tissue samples for examination/analysis.
- Collaborate with medical specialists and pathologists to decide the correct diagnosis if cell abnormalities are revealed.
- Adhering to safety procedures and regulations by maintaining a clean and focused workplace.
- Presenting test results to physicians, researchers, and/or patients.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory science, or a relevant field
- Certificate to work as a medical technician
- 2+ yrs. experience as a medical technician
- Advanced knowledge of biology and chemistry
- Proven experience working with various medical tools and equipment
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Exceptional presentation and analytical skills
