Job brief
We are seeking an organized, efficient, and dynamic Medical Record Clerk to join our team. The role's main focus will be to provide administrative and clerical support to the internal record-keeping department. The ideal candidate must possess extensive experience using EMR systems, have a great typing speed, and have an eye for accuracy.
Responsibilities
- Use the internal computer system to keep medical records in the relevant order.
- Keep records up to date by inputting new data and information.
- Ensure the filing system, both physical and computerized is kept in good order.
- Assist with pulling out medical records for healthcare professionals when required.
- Assist patients with accessing their medical records when required.
- Send medical records to healthcare professionals upon request.
- Process information requests and have them approved in a timely manner.
- Ensure all records are maintained and kept in a secure location both physically and electronically.
Requirements
- Minimum of an Associate degree in business administration or a related field
- Minimum of two years’ experience in an administrative or clerical role
- Strong knowledge of data protection guidelines
- Proficient with the use of record-keeping systems such as EMR systems
- Exceptional ability to keep files organized and in good order
- Highly organized and able to consistently prioritize own workload
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Good typing speed of at least 50 wpm
- Good customer service skills
- Ability to multitask
