Job brief
We are seeking an experienced and detail orientated Mechanical Engineer to join our highly skilled team, the successful candidate will work within the engineering department to build, test, and develop new machinery, components, sensors, and technologies to further the technologies used within the business.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and diagnose issues and problems with mechanical equipment.
- Create designs, and re-designs using CAD (Computer-aided design) including mechanical devices, thermal devices, and also sub-systems where required.
- Investigate faulty equipment and provide fast and effective diagnosis of the issue, in addition to recommending the best action to rectify the problem.
- After designing products/processes, develop and test prototypes to ensure 100% efficacy of the item.
- Review and analyze test results and re-design or re-start if needed.
- Take responsibility and manage the production of the device created.
- Research the engineering market and keep up to date with industry standards and market trends.
- Ensures timely maintenance of all equipment, products/machinery, including services and upgrades.
Requirements
- Bachelors or above in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent work experience (time served)
- Experience with either an apprenticeship/internship would be an advantage
- Minimum of 4 years work experience in a relevant field
- Creative and dynamic in nature
- An effective listener who can make use of constructive criticism
- Excellent mathematics skills with the ability to solve complex problems
- Good Engineering skills and ability to work effectively with hands
- Able to work in confined spaces
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to work to agreed deadlines
- Ability to develop and implement effective procedures and maintenance schedules
- Effective negotiation skills with the ability to communicate and negotiate with clients and vendors alike
