Material Logistics Specialist job description

Job brief

We are seeking a dynamic, adaptable, and detail-focused Material Logistics Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a broad knowledge of logistics within an operational setting, and the experience to manage both material and their logistics simultaneously. The focus of the role is to ensure that materials required by the site are moved, delivered, and dispatched on time according to the operational needs of the business.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with all operational departments to ascertain material requirements.
• Liaise with material suppliers to ensure stock volumes and place orders.
• Ensure that material is collected, transited, and delivered on time.
• Ensure that forwarded materials are dispatched in a timely manner, and provide ETA’s.
• Safely arrange for the transport of raw materials around the site to various departments as required.
• Coordinate and record movement of any and all products within the business operations.
• Develop and support supply chain objectives on a quarterly and annual basis.
• Work in line with operational KPI’s.
• Manage and monitor inventory capacity.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Logistics, supply chain, procurement, or related field
• 2 years of experience within the logistics and supply chain industry is essential
• Demonstrated knowledge of supply chain processes
• Ability to work under pressure to fulfill agreed deadlines
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Excellent problem solver with the ability to critically think
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• A Driver’s License is essential, with added endorsements for trucks would be beneficial
• Good knowledge of logistics software.
• Demonstrated knowledge of working to and achieving KPI’s
