Management Accountant job description

Job brief

We are looking for a Management Accountant to join our team and provide financial guidance to our organization. In this role, you will be responsible for managing financial reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and analysis. The ideal candidate will have exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, strong attention to detail, and an ability to communicate financial information effectively to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Manage the preparation of monthly, quarterly and yearly financial statements, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial information.
• Analyze financial data and provide insights to management to support decision-making and strategic planning.
• Develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and financial models, providing guidance to department heads and executives.
• Assess and review financial controls, identifying risks and opportunities for improvement.
• Oversee the accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments, and collections.
• Support audits and tax filings, liaising with external accounting firms and regulatory bodies as required.
• Provide financial guidance to department heads and executives, developing key performance indicators and tracking results to support business objectives.
• Maintain awareness of industry trends, best practices and regulatory requirements, incorporating these into financial policies and procedures as required.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• CPA or CMA designation preferred
• 5+ years of experience in a similar role, demonstrating a strong track record in financial management and reporting
• Proficiency in financial reporting software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office
• Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication skills, with an ability to distill complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines
• Demonstrated ability to identify and implement process improvements
• High level of integrity and ethics
