Job brief
We are seeking a dynamic, driven and service-focused Lodging Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a broad range of experience in the lodging and hospitality industry, the focus of the role will be to ensure a fantastic experience for guests lodging with us, as well as managing bookings and ensuring relevant rooms/space is available.
Responsibilities
- Inspect guest rooms to ensure they are clean, and of a good standard.
- Ensure inspections are complete before guest checkout to inspect for damages and apply applicable charges.
- Inspect public areas such as bathrooms, lobbies, and stairways to ensure they are clean and obstacle-free, and to ensure health and safety regulations are being adhered to.
- Inspect grounds to ensure that they are in good condition and appearance and ensure any pruning, trimming or other maintenance work is carried out.
- Ensure the company standard for guest services and décor in rooms is adhered to.
- Speak and converse with guests and answer questions about the facility and its available services provided on-site.
- Assist with the hiring and training of new team members
- Provide budgets, reports, and expenditure justification as required.
- Lead, delegate and manage the onsite team.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or above in hospitality or related field
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a hotel/guest house supervisory or management position
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Able to analyze data and information
- Confident with all computer programs including, Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Experience with providing reports and providing detailed presentations
- Excellent leadership abilities
- Confident to delegate workloads and training new team members
