Lineman job description

Job brief

We are looking for a determined and responsible Lineman to join our team. The ideal candidate for the role must be a professional worker and help the team install and, in case, repair power lines that are above or below the ground. A Lineman's job responsibilities include inspecting power lines or repairing power lines in case it is needed. You will work with a great team of electricians and will be the best help for them to install, repair, or replace power lines. 

Responsibilities

• Installing transmission and distribution lines on the power plants, individual buildings, or homes.
• Reading and interpreting electrical wiring charts. 
• Digging and making trenches or climbing pillars to repair or maintain underground and overhead electrical cables. 
• Perform inspections to prevent all power outages by replacing or repairing components. 
• Remove tree branches or other hazards which are near the live power stations. 
• Troubleshoot power outages and specific problems with electrical lines and wires. 
• Report progress, concerns, and delays to the related supervisor.

Requirements

• Proven work experience as a Lineman or similar role
• Vast experience in using digger derricks, climbing gears, aerial lifts, tensioners, backhoes, pullers, and cranes
• Solid knowledge about the safety regulations and guidelines, supported by state regulations
• Great organizational and time-management skills 
• Relevant training and certifications
