Leasing consultant job brief
We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-centric Leasing Consultant to oversee the leasing process for our residential properties. As a Leasing Consultant, you will be responsible for responding to leasing inquiries, providing property tours, and guiding residents through the application process.
Leasing consultant responsibilities
- Respond to all leasing inquiries via phone, email, or in-person and schedule tours of available units.
- Provide knowledgeable information about the property, including community amenities, pricing, floor plans, policies, and procedures.
- Present and lease available units to potential residents.
- Process leasing applications, background checks, and credit checks in a timely manner.
- Prepare leases and lease renewals, and ensure all leasing documents are complete and accurate.
- Maintain an accurate and up-to-date database of all prospects, residents, and vacate notices.
- Resolve resident concerns and complaints in a timely and effective manner.
- Conduct regular market surveys to stay up to date on competitive properties.
- Participate in property marketing initiatives, including internet advertising and outreach marketing efforts.
- Attend regular leasing training sessions and stay up to date with industry trends.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; College degree preferred
- Minimum of 1 year experience in leasing, sales, or customer service preferred
- Strong skills in communication, organization, and customer service
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and property management software
- Must have reliable transportation
- Knowledge of Fair Housing Laws and landlord/tenant laws preferred
- Must be able to pass a background check
- Must have strong sales skills and be able to close leasing deals effectively
