Job brief
We are in search of an organized and friendly Hospital Registrar to collect patient information, validate documents, and maintain records. Hospital Registrars should be professional at all times and keep patient records confidential.
Responsibilities
- Collect specimens, analyze them with the appropriate tools, and write reports in accordance with compliance standards and lab policies.
- Performing laboratory tests in line with standard testing methods.
- Maintains laboratory glassware, logs, and record books, as well as diagnosing and resolving problems and assisting with special projects.
- Picks up, cleans, washes, sterilizes, and distributes glassware as needed.
- Follows operating instructions, troubleshoots problems, maintains supplies, does preventative maintenance, and calls for repairs to keep equipment running.
- Maintains daily logs and equipment record books to keep track of information.
- Document test results and store data in the correct format.
- Communicate with distributors to order any equipment or supplies used by the laboratory are adequately stocked.
- Store chemicals and other substances in a safe manner, following all safety guidelines.
- Staying informed on the latest scientific developments, research, insights, publications, technology, equipment, and practices.
- Ensure safety guidelines are followed at all times within laboratory premises.
- Maintain daily logs.
- Administer technical support to scientists when necessary.
- Clean, process, and perform basic data analyses.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry, or related field
- Experience as a lab technician (may include time in university)
- Comfortable with handling hazardous substances such as flammable liquids
- Literate with Microsoft Office
- Understanding of how to use SAS
- Practical knowledge of testing data
- Analytical skills
- Detail-oriented
- Good written skills
