Job brief
We are seeking a detail-focused, knowledgeable and professional Junior Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. The ideal fit for the role will have a strong background in engineering with a focus on manufacturing. The key focus of the position will be to operate, evaluate and maintain the company’s manufacturing equipment, along with streamlining processes, increasing productivity, and making cost-saving suggestions.
Responsibilities
- Review and analyze existing manufacturing processes and make suggestions on improvements and streamlining.
- Assess current equipment and machinery in place, develop regular service and maintenance schedules and make recommendations on upgrades.
- Monitor and analyze current production and output levels and make recommendations for improvement.
- Establish repair and quality inspection protocols for equipment.
- Reduce production costs and ensure high-quality produce.
- Keep records of all equipment services, repairs and maintenance completed.
- Check completed repair and maintenance work to ensure the viability of the repairs.
- Assist the engineering team with completing or planning repair and maintenance work.
- Work in line with health and safety guidelines.
- Work towards KPIs and objectives set out by executives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Engineering or related field.
- Demonstrated experience in a similar role
- Ability to read, interpret, and execute technical drawings and diagrams
- Ability to effectively manage a production team
- Excellent analytical skills, with a keen attention to detail
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Demonstrated knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment
- Good report writing skills
- Able to work to agreed deadlines and timescales
- Good problem-solving abilities
- Ability to prioritize own time and workload
