Junior Field Engineer job description

Job brief

We are seeking a detail-focused, knowledgeable, and professional Junior Field Engineer to join our team! The ideal fit for the role will have a strong engineering background and be confident working off-site and on the road to provide guidance, maintenance, and installation at various sites. The key focus of the position is to install, inspect and sign off on new instruments and equipment on site.

Responsibilities

• Analyze existing equipment, ensure it is suitable for the project's needs, and ensure on-time inspection and servicing for existing equipment.
• Inspect equipment regularly to ensure that any preventative maintenance is carried out.
• Make recommendations for new instruments and equipment to be installed to increase productivity.
• Conduct project research and report back with project timelines, goals, and success likelihood.
• Ensure projects run smoothly.
• Provide training on engineering methods and follow engineering instructions.
• Provide regular reports to executives.
• Work in line with health and safety guidelines.
• Provide direction, training, and mentoring to other engineers and operatives at the field site.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Engineering or related field
• Demonstrated experience in a field engineering role
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, and diagrams
• Ability to effectively manage projects
• Strong analytical skills, with keen attention to detail
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Demonstrated knowledge of health and safety guidelines
• Good report writing skills
• Strong manual dexterity
• Good problem-solving abilities
• Ability to prioritize own time and workload
