We are seeking an experienced, dynamic IT Operations Manager with fantastic leadership skills to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT operations, with the ability to manage a diverse team to succeed. The main focus of the role will be to ensure the IT department runs at the optimum operating level, whilst suggesting improvements, managing budgets, and much more.
Responsibilities
- Provide maintenance to local company networks whilst maintaining and optimizing servers.
- Take responsibility for device management and user’s passwords and ensure security.
- Effectively manage data backup and the operations of system security, such as firewalls, antivirus, and user authorization.
- Complete installation of hardware and software as required along with regular updates, work with the IT team to configure hardware and software.
- Monitor, and analyze system performance and provide valid recommendations and suggestions to improve performance from an operational standpoint.
- Proactively support the IT team to assist in the resolution of escalated issues and problems raised by other technicians and support agents.
- Be compliant with the handling and transferring of data.
- Provide guidance, support, troubleshooting, and escalation to stakeholders and clients alike via helpdesk.
- Manage and prepare budgets and cost-saving initiatives to present to executives and higher-level management.
- Collaborate with external vendors to acquire contracts for services such as development platforms and renew software licenses etc.
- Develop, implement, and enforce best practice policies and procedures for the IT department.
- Ensure compliance with local GDPR guidance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Information Technology, Operations Management, Computer Science, Engineering or related field
- Demonstrated experience within an IT Management role, or an Operations Management role with a strong education in IT
- Adept with the installation of systems and able to analyze configuration
- Strong understanding of networks, their operation, security, and cloud-based computing
- Excellent leadership abilities and ability to work with a diverse multicultural team
- Effective delegation skills, and project management abilities
- Clear and concise communication skills both written and verbal
- Adept with problem-solving, able to break down root causes of problems
- Effectively works under the pressure and to agreed deadlines and targets
