Job brief
We are seeking a dynamic and management-focused IT Director to join our team. The ideal candidate will be business-minded with the ability to integrate and implement system solutions to address the operational requirements of the department. The role will primarily focus on the management and development of the department including management of budgets and communication with other executives at the director level to ensure operational productivity.
Responsibilities
- Analyze the organization’s IT infrastructure and recommend possible upgrades for other executives to review and consider.
- Plan and direct the installation and maintenance of computer hardware and software.
- Review and improve the security of the organization’s network and electronic document storage procedure.
- Strategize on the costs and benefits of upcoming projects and their viability whilst justifying funding on projects to other executives.
- Continuously learn and develop knowledge about new technology and research ways to upgrade the company’s computer systems to ensure maximum productivity.
- Identify short and long-term personnel needs for the department to ensure staffing levels are kept consistent and the required operational level can be attained.
- Negotiate with various vendors, clients, and stakeholders to achieve the highest level of quality and service at the best possible price for the organization’s IT infrastructure operations.
- Lead, plan, and direct the work of other IT personnel within the department, including Systems Analysts, Software Developers, Network Administrators, Network Engineers, IT Coordinators, Information Security Analysts, and IT Helpdesk Support Specialists.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or above in IT Management, Information Technology, Engineering, or other related business fields
- Minimum of 2 years work experience in a similar role, or within a management role in an IT related environment
- Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate with stakeholders, clients, external vendors, and team members alike
- Effective leadership skills with the ability to delegate and identify strengths in team members
- Great problem-solving skills with an out-of-the-box approach to thinking
- Ability to be analytically minded in order to analyze and improve certain processes and procedures
- Excellent implementation and development skills
- Confident with decision-making and able to take responsibility and accountability
- Excellent critical thinking skills
