Job brief
We are seeking a driven, dynamic, and forward-thinking IT Coordinator to join our growing team. The focus of the role is to maintain the computer networks and provide administrative support to other IT personnel. The ideal candidate should have excellent communication skills with the ability to manage a high workload and work well under pressure.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement protocols for the standardized use of IT equipment across departments within the business.
- Liaise with team members and internal customers to provide sound advice on the most suitable choices for IT equipment and which is most effective for specific tasks.
- Provide technical support and mentoring for the proper use of systems, networks, and some hardware.
- Liaise with end-users and higher-tier support technicians to ensure smooth and seamless communication and the fastest possible help and fixes to the end-user.
- Set up and install software, and hardware where required, including printers, routers, access cards, etc.
- Continuously monitor the system and network performance to ensure maximum efficiency and capacity can be tolerated with ease.
- Assist with troubleshooting, perform some repairs and assist with data restoration where required.
- Assist with maintenance activities relating to performance, such as data and information backups.
- Maintain the required licenses needed and ensure upgrade schedules are up-to-date and correct.
- Work with other professionals in the IT department to maintain high standards and consistent functionality for the business.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s in Information Technology, Technical Engineering, or Computer Science is preferred or equivalent work experience (minimum 2 years)
- Demonstrated experience as an IT coordinator or in a similar role
- Previous experience with network support and management is an advantage along with the ability to assist with helpdesk issues
- Excellent understanding of IT systems
- A good understanding of TCP and IP protocols along with LAN/WAN configuration
- Good troubleshooting skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to help and provide support to other users
- Pay great attention to details, specifically seemingly small and insignificant ones
- Effective organizer with the ability to plan and prioritize workload
