Job brief
We are seeking a detail orientated, analytically-minded IT Analyst to join our team. The main purpose of the role will be to design, develop, implement and test functional and cost-effective IT systems that bring operational efficiency and value. The ideal candidate will have a strong IT background with the ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve common goals and objectives both operationally and within their department.
Responsibilities
- Liaises with stakeholders, clients, and operational personnel to fully understand the project requirements.
- Develops, analyses, and implements functional specifications for IT infrastructure.
- Designs robust and efficient IT systems fit to meet the demands of the businesses’ operational and technical requirements and needs.
- Works alongside developers to create, build and develop new technology solutions as required.
- Works with different teams and departments to aid in the integration of multiple systems, whilst understanding their operational and functional needs.
- Requests feedback from end-users regarding the efficiency and performance of the system.
- Manages projects and oversees upgrades and general maintenance such as hardware and software installs.
- Shares knowledge and is an effective mentor, willingly providing advice and guidance to others as well as technical training.
- Constantly researches new and rising technologies, keeping up to date with industry standards and updating their knowledge with relevant changes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, or related field
- Experience within an IT Analyst role, or similar experience of at least 2 years
- Experience working on projects, managing projects, and using project management software
- Knowledge and understanding of how databases work, able to understand system security, with effective troubleshooting skills
- Excellent operational knowledge and business acumen, able to fully understand operational needs, targets, and requirements when it comes to IT systems
- Good communication skills with the ability to communicate with people from different backgrounds, cultures, and levels of seniority, with the ability to break down complex information into manageable pieces for non-technically minded people
- Analytical skills with the ability to extract and analyze data and identify patterns and trends
- Effective problem-solving skills, with the ability to break down root causes and solve the problem to a complete end
