Job brief
We are seeking a detail-focused, knowledgeable and professional Industrial Engineer to join our team! The ideal fit for the role should have a strong background in engineering with a complex understanding of industrial processes and procedures. The focus of the role is to review, improve and create effective, time-saving processes throughout the manufacturing process.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and review existing processes and procedures.
- Analyze and review existing equipment functions and processes.
- Develop and implement new processes/procedures in the production department.
- Research and develop innovative equipment and implement it where needed.
- Monitor new processes and equipment and report on the reduction of waste they bring, either labor or cost-wise.
- Make assessments of current cost and output and develop plans to reduce waste such as labor and cost.
- Assess current processes for automation where viable.
- Design production layouts.
- Produce diagrams, designs, and charts.
- Increase overall productivity of the manufacturing process.
- Provide reports on productivity, cost saving, and other factors on a monthly or quarterly basis.
- Work in line with health and safety guidelines at all times.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Engineering or related field
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role
- Previous experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting is essential
- Strong knowledge of industrial processes and equipment
- Able to collaborate with various departments
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- A keen eye for detail
- Good report writing skills
- Strong manual dexterity
- Good problem-solving abilities
- Ability to prioritize own time and workload
