Job brief
We are seeking a professional, personable, and dynamic ICU nurse to join our team! The ideal candidate will be a registered nurse with certification and will have a compassionate and caring nature, along with previous experience caring for patients who are critically ill. The focus of the role will be to provide medication administration and support to patients in their journey to recovery.
Responsibilities
- View patient charts to ascertain any changes in condition at the start of your shift.
- Ensure the patient maintains stability throughout your shift.
- Evaluate patients' progress or decline as needed and make notes of such.
- Ensure the patient receives all medications as needed in a timely manner.
- Insert, remove or replace IV lines as needed.
- Ensure wound care is completed in a timely manner when needed.
- Make regular checks and monitoring of patients' vital signs.
- Provide constant support during the recovery process whilst in the ICU.
- Provide sometimes specialized and tailored care to patients.
- Liaise with doctors and other pertinent healthcare professionals to provide updates and critical information.
- Work in line with patient confidentiality guidelines and safeguard practices at all times.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing or related field
- License to practice as a nurse in the country/state you reside
- Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in a nursing role
- Physically capable of being on your feet for extended periods of time
- Excellent communication skills and relationship-building abilities
- Strong knowledge of patient confidentiality and safeguarding practices
- Well-developed interpersonal skills
- Confident with administering medication
- Highly detail focused
- Able to create and execute care plans
- Good problem-solving skills
- Kind, patient and caring in nature
