High-level job responsibilities can include partnering with clients to secure necessary services, creating educational materials, and facilitating training sessions within communities while collaborating with both government and social services agencies to ensure equal access to provided services.
Responsibilities
- Researching and sharing Human Rights topical information, data and trends.
- Studying and gathering data on human rights violations.
- Advocating human rights knowledge and understanding through the larger community.
- Interacting with human rights victims and reviewing their specific cases.
- Participating in and assisting clients to facilitate vigils and protests and other human rights-oriented activities.
- Commenting in human rights discussions and online forums, and while monitoring responses.
- Aligning with legal professionals in reviewing cases and interviewing victims.
- Corresponding with perpetrators and dissuading them from wrongdoings.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in law, Political Science, International Relations, or related field
- Proven human rights advocate or similar experience in a reputed legal firm or NGO
- Motivated, detail-oriented high achiever
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Exceptional analytical skills and deductive reasoning
- Strong research and fact-finding skills
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Empathetic team player who enjoys collaborating with others
- Open to a flexible schedule with some weekends
