Heavy Equipment Operator job description

Job brief

We have an open position as a Heavy Equipment Operator! This person will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of heavy equipment, and will benefit and grow from natural job rotation for project completion.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all equipment is ready and safe to use.
• Operate heavy machinery, such as wheel loaders, excavators, bobcats, bulldozers, screening plants, and more.
• Communicate all malfunctions to higher-ups as soon as they occur on the field.
• Completely understand the construction plan and pertinent steps.
• Park all machinery safely and conveniently for the rest of the team.
• Fill out and understand the equipment and duty logbook.
• Comply with the company’s safety policies.

Requirements

• Must demonstrate mechanical knowledge, background, as well as experience in an industrial environment/manufacturing setting
• Demonstrated ability in working under pressure and ever-changing surroundings
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Able to work independently in a busy environment
• Use of Personal Protection Equipment is required
• Experience operating heavy equipment
• A keen awareness of safety protocol
