Job brief
In collaboration with healthcare providers, the Health informaticist is responsible for analyzing healthcare data and optimizing the delivery of healthcare services. Core job duties include gathering applicable healthcare data, developing efficient information systems and procedures, and supplying healthcare providers with access to shared information. This role requires exemplary IT/technology skills, analytical prowess, and deep knowledge of healthcare systems.
Responsibilities
- Observe healthcare service delivery procedures, Interview healthcare providers and patients as well as collect electronic healthcare data.
- Analyze and interpret data for quality control and process improvement.
- Create health information systems that aid the collection, standardization, sharing, and integration of healthcare data.
- Collaborate and guide on improving standards of care, procedures, and policies.
- Provide training on the health information system deployment and management.
- Offer technical support, optimize network security, and maintain respective databases.
- Ensure 100% compliance with healthcare information management regulations.
- Document processes, maintain records, and prepare reports.
- Keep apprised of industry advancements in health informatics.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, computer sciences, or a related field
- 2+ yrs. of experience as a health informatics specialist
- Fluency in programming languages and EMR software, such as SQL and Epic
- Deep knowledge of health information system design and database management
- In-depth understanding of best practices in healthcare information management
- Superb analytical, organizational, and time management skills
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Detail-oriented collaborator
