We are seeking a professional, personable, and dynamic Health Educator to join our team! The ideal candidate will have a strong background in educating people from backgrounds and diversities about healthy lifestyles and access to healthcare services. The role's key focus will be to educate various groups of people in various settings, including residential settings, community settings, and committee settings, about health and wellness.
Responsibilities
- Investigate specific organization, community, committee, or residential health education needs for the group and type of people you will be educating.
- Develop an agenda of important topics and issues to cover with each group of people.
- Provide general health advice, such as diet and exercise, lowering cholesterol, and keeping a healthy heart, to infant oral care and gaining access to healthcare services.
- Hold regular health education sessions with different people and answer questions they may have.
- Liaise with healthcare service providers to give out relevant information to people in the community, organization, or committee that may find their services useful.
- Create and develop effective healthcare education programs and curricula.
- Identify the need for, and perform targeted healthcare education interventions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in public health or similar
- Certification of Health Specialist training or other relevant certification issued by your country/state health board
- Minimum of 2 years hands-on experience in a health education role
- Demonstrated experience in collecting and analyzing data and information
- Excellent communication skills and relationship-building abilities
- Well-developed interpersonal skills
- Highly detail focused
- Confident public speaker
- Able to create plans and agendas
- Good problem-solving skills
- Collaborative in nature
