Job brief

We are seeking a friendly, outgoing, and creative Hair Stylist to join our team! The ideal fit for the role will have a passion for styling hair. Whether it is for weddings, parties, or everyday wear, the right candidate should be versatile and enjoy a challenge! The focus of the role is to assist the client with feeling glamorous, well groomed, and styled according to their occasion or event, along with providing outstanding customer service and client experience!

Responsibilities

• Take bookings from clients requesting hairstyling and discuss and ascertain their requirements.
• Book clients in for appointments that suit their schedules.
• Greet clients when they arrive at the salon and confirm the style they have.
• Assist clients with providing recommendations based on their event, face shape, and overall goal for their look, where clients are not sure about what they want.
• Use various styling tools to style clients' hair, including blow dryers, flat irons, curling tongs, wave machines, and large brushes.
• Style the clients' hair in line with their request or event style.
• Use various hair care products on the clients' hair that is suitable for their hair type.
• Make recommendations to clients on haircare products to purchase from the salon.
• Rebook clients for their next appointments before they leave, if applicable.
• Ensure a clean and tidy working environment, cleaning brushes, combs, surfaces, and chairs after each client.
• Assist with sweeping in the salon to ensure an aesthetically pleasing environment.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Vocational training in hairstyling or at least one year of experience assisting in a salon under the supervision of a hairdresser
• Strong knowledge of hair care products and styling tools
• Confident, friendly personality with excellent customer service skills
• Ability to work independently when needed
• Physically capable of working on your feet for long periods of time
