Flight Operations Specialist job description

Job brief

We are seeking a service-focused, detail-orientated Flight Operations Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operations within the aviation industry and a sound knowledge of flight operations. The focus of the role is to bring effective and efficient operations to the flight schedule and operation.

Responsibilities

• Undertake all administrative tasks as required to keep the flight schedule on time, up to date, and running at proper capacity.
• Ensure that flights have clearance for take-off and landing at their allotted times.
• Prepare flight schedules and obtain relevant authorizations for those flights.
• Ensure proper training of aircrew and obtain required certification from them, ensure certificates are kept up to date, and that required training is booked as needed.
• Perform airfield inspections as required.
• Properly maintain flight logs on the computer system
• Liaise with air traffic control and update the schedule with delays or early departures.

Requirements

• Associates degree or above in business, transport, or related field
• Minimum of 2 years experience in an operations-based role within the transport industry
• Excellent analytical abilities
• Keen eye for detail
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Strong relationship building skills
• Highly organized and able to effectively prioritize own workload
• Excellent problem-solving abilities
• Confident in providing accurate reports when required
